How to Look Forward to Each and Every Day
Morning routine - arguably the most popular topic in the space of self-development, personal growth, or however you want to call it.
It is the topic of countless youtube videos, blog articles, instagram reels, twitter threads, tiktoks.
And for a good reason. How you start your morning dictates, in most cases, how the rest of your day will look and feel. And if you put enough days together, you are now looking at one’s whole life. That’s why how you start your mornings can make a difference between a fulfilled and a miserable life.
However, what I want to discuss in this essay is not the type of morning routine that you are used to hearing about. There are people like Andrew Huberman who provide plenty of science-based tips for optimizing your body and mind in order to set yourself up for a great day.
What I want to talk about is how to reignite that childlike curiosity and enthusiasm for life. How to wake up feeling excited about the day ahead of you?
I was inspired to write about this topic by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, best known as the psychologist who coined the term "flow," describing complete absorption and focused attention in an activity.
