Small Identity, Introduction to Nietzsche, Loneliness Epidemic, and Life Elevation
Existential Espresso Vol. 33
What I’ve read:
Keep Your Identity Small by Paul Graham
This one will take just a couple of minutes to read, so I won’t be trying to give you an introduction because I would just be repeating what Graham wrote.
This is a concept that I’ve been living by for quite some time now, but I never tried to explain it as well as Graham did.
The fewer labels you attach to yourself, the more free you are to develop as a person and hear different perspectives with a mind unclouded by ideologies.

What I’ve listened to:
Nietzsche lecture by Prof. Raymond Geuss
This series of lectures on Nietzsche by Prof. Geuss is one of the best introductions to Nietzsche as well as a great supplementary listen while you are already reading his works.
I listened to these lectures multiple times a couple of years ago. Since I added them to the Online Lecture Library of the Sisyphus Society, I decided to revisit them, both to refresh my memory and to see if my opinion on their quality has changed after years of studying Nietzsche. The answer is no. Prof. Geuss is a passionate and engaging lecturer who will have you follow every lecture with your full attention.
You can find the full playlist here.
What I’ve been thinking about:
Loneliness Epidemic
Not a day goes by that I don't receive a comment or a message from one of my readers saying how they are lonely. I am not surprised by this. There is no doubt that humanity is facing a loneliness epidemic that is, in large part, a result of our modern, fast-paced lifestyle, where external goals and achievements take priority over relationships and community.
For those who feel lonely, I don’t have a quick fix for you. If you find such a thing, please let me know, as I could use it as well.
But I can tell you this: As weird as it sounds, you are not alone in your loneliness. There are more people than ever in need of a genuine human connection, whether it’s a romantic relationship or a friendship. It is up to us if we will put making these connections high enough on our priority list.
What I’ve been working on:
Elevate Your Day to Elevate Your Life
"I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor," said Henry David Thoreau.
And how you elevate your life is by starting with that which is a micro-representation of what your life will look like: your day.
Most of the questions I receive from my readers on a daily basis revolve around the things I do to better myself and my life. Replying to each person one by one is not the best way to help the greatest amount of people. That’s why I’ve created a free 7-day course to share every aspect of what I believe makes a daily routine that will help you thrive physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Here are the topics we will cover:
• Mindfulness and focus
• Training and nutrition
• Education
• Discomfort
• Fun and entertainment
• Relationships and community
Once again, it is free. However, if you are interested, make sure to join now since this course begins today and will be running in real-time.

Thank you for reading.
Stay strong, love life, and never feel sorry for yourself.
