I'm still new to your concepts but absolutely love it. I try to read a lot of self development, stoicism is definitely for me. What I struggle with is holding it together in the storm and lose my temper quick which is sure sign if immaturity in my opinion. How can I do better please?? I know your going say " consistency", but I need to apply it in storm. Thanks for my new six pack by the way. Del

The great winds come :

those trees that resist - creak, crack, and cease to exist

those trees that sway - live to play another day

Perhaps you're trying to hold too much through the storm? Storms are a blessing - a strain on the system, revealing where weaknesses lie, and cleansing that which is not suited to survive. It's impossible for man to stand alone against the might of nature; rather, learn to grow in harmony with the environment of your life.

Applying this to consistency, practice breath work and/or mantras.

Learn how to be intentional with breathing and you will always be able to ground your body. Learn how to intentionally set the rhythm of your thoughts and you will be able to calm your mind.

Both are most beneficial when they are habitual, which comes from consistency. Dedicate a time (right after you open your eyes in the morning; right before you close your eyes at night) to intentionally practice them; be mindful throughout the day to practice them when "the storms come".

Best of luck.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
