What I’ve been reading:
A Life Worth Living: Contributions to Positive Psychology by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi
A Life Worth Living is not actually an entire book written by Csíkszentmihályi but a collection of scholarly articles that examine what a good life is from the perspective of positive psychology.
SPOILER ALERT: Selfish focus on attaining the largest amount of material wealth, power, or social status for their own sake doesn’t lead to a fulfilling life.
One thing that isn’t surprising is how much emphasis is placed on personal goals throughout the book. Personally relevant and meaningful goals, if I may add.
“A rapidly expanding database now exists that demonstrates that personal goals are a valid representation of how people structure and experience their lives: They are critical constructs for understanding the ups and downs of everyday life, and they are key elements for understanding both the positive life as well as psychological dysfunction (Karoly, 1999).”
Interesting read. However, if you are relatively new to the topic, I would first recommend reading at least “Flow” and “Finding Flow” by Csíkszentmihályi.

What I’ve really listened to: Scott Galloway on the Modern Wisdom Podcast
Nuanced, thought-out, open-minded, healthy conversation around masculinity. It's easy to think that such a conversation doesn’t exist in this era of men who have failed at being decent humans, let alone examplary men, becoming gurus and teaching other men what it takes to become a man. But there is still hope.

What I’ve been thinking about:
Stop glorifying knowledge.
The only real measure of progress is not the amount of knowledge or insight you have accumulated, but your ability to take action in the service of living a life that you want to live and becoming the person that you want to be.
Thank you for reading.
Stay strong, love life, and never feel sorry for yourself.
