For a long, long time, there was a huge wall looming over me.
It was made of insecurity, anxiety, fear, self-doubt, self-hatred, confusion, loneliness, and depression.
I used to call this wall Life.
For a long, long time, I thought my existence would amount to standing in the shade of this wall, never being able to enjoy the sun. And then, one day, the wall would collapse on me, and that would be the end.
However, there come moments when you realize you are not alone. When you stop focusing only on yourself, look around and see others facing the same wall. You see people, just like you, climbing.
One day, I decided to see the sun. But I could never do it alone. Seeing others climb fueled me with courage, hope, and love. So I started climbing.
Ever since I remember, there was a huge wall looming over me.
It was made of insecurity, anxiety, fear, self-doubt, self-hatred, confusion, loneliness, and depression.
I used to call this wall Life.
One day, I climbed to the top. I was finally able to see the other side of the wall and feel the sun’s warmth. The world wasn’t cold anymore.
I don’t call that wall Life anymore. It was just a part of life. But there was so much beyond it all along. As afraid as I once was of life, I’ve found there is infinitely more to love about it.
The wall was never too high for me to climb over it. It’s not too high for anyone. Everyone can climb and feel the sun’s warmth. But not alone. What got me to start climbing was seeing others climb. What got me to keep climbing was knowing there are others behind me, looking for hope and encouragement just like I was.
The wall is not too high for anyone. It’s not too high if you remember that you are not climbing it by yourself and for yourself.
You are not alone.
