There are few fuels in life as powerful as someone believing in you.
There are almost no limits to the heights you can reach, and there is definitely nothing that can defeat you or keep you down permanently when someone believes in you.
But you cannot make someone believe in you.
Sure, you can ask them to believe in you. And I have nothing against that.
But you cannot flip a switch in someone’s heart and mind.
They have to make a decision and a passionate commitment to believe in you with every ounce of their being. That’s the kind of belief I’m talking about.
So what can you do if you want this fuel in your life?
It’s simple: believe in someone.
By far the greatest blessing in my life are the people I’m surrounded by. Every single morning when I wake up, I express gratitude for having them in my life. I am regularly moved to tears just thinking about them.
They are literally the reason I am alive today. They are my reason for living. The purpose of my life is to repay them for the support they’ve given me.
They believed in me when I needed it the most.
I often think I’m unworthy of such a blessing.
But then I remember: I believed in them, and I will always believe in them.
Even though they are all strong and confident individuals, I know that I believe in them even more than they believe in themselves.
It’s not possible for healthy and humble individuals that they are to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them.
The belief I have in them knows no limits and is not of this world. They can never be alone. They can never fall.
And when they are faced with life’s darkest moments and have no strength to believe in themselves, they will know that someone believes in them with such burning passions that they will have no choice but to rise out of their darkness.
So maybe I am not unworthy of the blessing that I received.
I don’t know who started believing in who first, and it doesn’t matter.
But you cannot just wait for people to believe in you.
You offer that torch of unconditional belief first. You start the cycle of one of the most beautiful acts humans are capable of.
Start believing in someone, and someone will believe in you.
Actually, you’ve already done this.
You believed in me. Most of you reading this have been taking time out of your day for months and even years to read what I have to say. You believed in me.
So, if the going gets tough and if you don’t believe in yourself, at least believe this: I believe in you. I really do.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing in me.
